Hawaiian Quilt Bedspread – Reversible Ulu Design

The Reversible Ulu Hawaiian Quilt is a beautifully hand-appliquéd bedspread that blends Hawaiian tradition with everyday comfort. The Ulu, or breadfruit, symbolizes abundance, growth, and perseverance—making this quilt more than just decor. It’s a piece of heritage stitched with purpose.

This design features a unique reverse appliqué method, rarely used and difficult to master. Instead of layering the pattern on top, our quilters cut the design from the top fabric to reveal the background beneath. In this quilt, the green fabric forms the foreground, cut to expose the cream base. Once quilted, the pattern appears as if the cream fabric was appliquéd. The result is subtle, striking, and incredibly detailed.

Only a few experienced quilters can achieve this level of craftsmanship. The final product is soft, breathable, and reversible—giving you two elegant looks in one heirloom-quality bedspread.
